Narwama
Moroccan & Thai cuisine in a UNESCO-listed palace near Jemaa el-Fna
Narwama is a restaurant in Marrakech occupying a centuries-old palace on Rue Koutoubia, steps from Jemaa el-Fna. The building is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage site, and its interiors — cedar ceilings, monumental chandeliers, lush courtyards, and a fountain of flames — form the backdrop for an evening of food and live performance.
The kitchen spans Moroccan tradition and Thai inspiration, with tasting menus named after local landmarks: Menara, Koutoubia, and Narwama. Guests choose from classic Moroccan tagines and salads or authentic Thai curries, all prepared with seasonal local produce.
Every evening features live entertainment: oriental dancers, Gnawa musicians, and world music performers. Narwama — whose name means Fire and Water — has been a fixture of Marrakech's medina dining scene since August 2004.
