Cap Malabata is a scenic headland about 10 km east of central Tangier, facing the Strait of Gibraltar. Its active lighthouse guides ships through the strait, and on a clear day you can see across the water to the mountains of southern Spain. Nearby stands a mock-medieval castle, actually built in the early twentieth century, making the cape a popular spot for coastal views just outside the city.
