The Merinid Tombs are the ruined 14th-century tombs of the Marinid dynasty, standing on a hill north of Fes el-Bali. Now roofless remains, they are best known today for the sweeping panorama they offer over the old medina of Fez, especially at sunset. The nearby Borj Nord fortress adds a second viewpoint on the same ridge.
