Tifoultoute Kasbah, Ouarzazate

Tifoultoute Kasbah stands on a hill about 8 km west of Ouarzazate, overlooking the Ouarzazate River valley and the High Atlas beyond. Built in earlier centuries and extended by the powerful Glaoui clan, it was associated with Thami El Glaoui, Pasha of Marrakesh from 1912 to 1956. Much of the structure has been left to decay, but the surviving section, with its towers and tiled rooms, is open to visitors and offers sweeping panoramic views.
