Fint Oasis (Oasis de Fint) is a green palm valley set among arid mountains about 12 km south of Ouarzazate. Its name means 'hidden' in Berber, and the oasis is home to around four small villages of rammed-earth houses whose way of life has changed little over generations. Reached by a partly unpaved track, it is a quiet counterpoint to the desert around it and has appeared in films including Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven and Babel.
