Why visit
- Aït Benhaddou, near Ouarzazate, is one of the finest surviving examples of southern Moroccan earthen-clay architecture and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987.
- The ksar rises in tiers of rammed-earth and adobe towers along a hillside above the Ounila River, on the caravan route that once linked the Sahara to Marrakesh.
- It is Morocco's most filmed location, appearing in over twenty-five productions from Lawrence of Arabia to Gladiator and Game of Thrones.
