Spanish Mosque

Hilltop viewpoint over the Blue City

Chat with us
The Spanish Mosque, also called the Bouzafar Mosque, sits on a hill east of Chefchaouen and is the town's best-known viewpoint. Built by the Spanish in the 1920s, the mosque itself is disused, but the short uphill walk rewards you with a sweeping panorama of the blue medina spread across the valley below and the Rif Mountains around it. It is a free, open-air spot especially popular at sunset.
