Plaza Uta el-Hammam

Chefchaouen's main cobbled square

Chat with us
Plaza Uta el-Hammam is the main cobbled square at the heart of Chefchaouen's medina, lined with cafés and overlooked by the 15th-century Kasbah and the Grand Mosque with its octagonal minaret. Created around the 16th century, its name comes from an old hammam in one corner. Shaded by trees and framed by blue-washed walls, it is the town's social centre, busiest in the early evening.
