Dar Sanaa
ARTISAN SCHOOL
Dar Sanaa, founded in 1928 under the Spanish Protectorate, is the most important crafts school in northern Morocco. Apprentices train for years in zellij tile cutting, carved plaster (gebs), inlaid wood (taracea), leather tooling, silk embroidery, and bookbinding. Visitors can walk the workshops, watch masters at work, and see the student showpieces displayed along the school's Andalusian patios. The building itself — a Spanish-era Neo-Mauresque structure opposite Bab el-Oqla — is part of the draw.

Yes — during term time (roughly October–June) you can walk the workshops while apprentices are working. Be respectful, ask before photographing individual students, and tip the guide at the end if one accompanies you.
