    Hassan Tower and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V — start at 09:00; the unfinished 12th-century Almohad minaret and the royal tomb share one esplanade and entry is free.

    Mohammed VI Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art — late morning, a short walk down Avenue Moulay Hassan; closed on Tuesdays.

    Dar Naji — lunch by the medina walls, tagines and Moroccan classics.

    Kasbah of the Udayas — early afternoon, enter through Bab Oudaia and walk the blue-and-white lanes to the platform above the Atlantic.

    Andalusian Gardens and Café Maure — late afternoon mint tea on the terrace over the Bouregreg estuary, inside the kasbah walls.

    Dinarjat — dinner in a restored Arab-Andalusian house deep in the medina; reserve ahead.

    Chellah — day two, from 09:00; the Merinid necropolis built over Roman Sala Colonia, reopened in 2024 after restoration.

    Medersa Abu al-Hassan, Salé — after lunch, cross the Bouregreg by tram or taxi for the 1341 Merinid school and its rooftop view back to Hassan Tower.
Rabat is Morocco's capital and a UNESCO World Heritage site, compact enough to cover on foot in two days. Day one stays on the Rabat bank: the Hassan Tower and Mausoleum of Mohammed V, the Mohammed VI Museum, the medina and the Kasbah of the Udayas. Day two heads south to the Merinid necropolis of Chellah, then crosses the Bouregreg to Salé and ends at sunset on Rabat beach.
