Why visit
- Moulay Idriss Zerhoun, near Meknes, is one of Morocco's holiest towns, built around the tomb of Moulay Idriss I, founder of the Idrisid dynasty who died in 791.
- The green-tiled mausoleum is a major place of pilgrimage and the spiritual heart of the town.
- The Sentissi mosque above the town carries the only cylindrical minaret in Morocco, tiled in green with Kufic inscriptions.
