United Nations Square (Place des Nations Unies) is the main pedestrian and tram hub of Casablanca, bridging the Old Medina with the downtown Art Deco district and Boulevard Mohammed V. The landmark clock tower nearby makes it one of the easiest orientation points for a self-guided city walk.
What to expect
- Tram tracks, traffic, and radiating boulevards. The nearby clock tower is a recognisable landmark. A few minutes standing here is enough to orient the rest of the walk.
How to combine
- Use it as the pivot between the Old Medina (north) and the downtown Art Deco core (south). From here the Hassan II Mosque is a 15-minute walk west; the Sacred Heart Cathedral is 10 minutes south.
