Habous Quarter

CULTURE

Built in the 1920s as a planned traditional quarter, the Habous (or New Medina) of Casablanca blends low Moorish arcades with small squares, bookstores, bakeries, and artisan stalls. It's easier to navigate than the Old Medina and the best place in the city for pastries, olives, leather goods, and handcrafted souvenirs.

FAQs

Habous was planned in the 1920s under the French protectorate. It's cleaner, quieter, and easier to navigate — a softer introduction to medina shopping.
