Paradise Valley is a section of the Tamraght River gorge in the western High Atlas, ~58 km from Agadir and ~36 km from Taghazout via the P1001. Crystal pools fed by mountain springs sit between rock walls draped in fig and palm — refilled by the heavy December 2025–February 2026 rains after years of drought.
What to expect
- Park at the visitor centre on the P1001 and walk down a stepped path (~30 minutes) to the first set of pools. More adventurous walkers continue upstream through boulders to quieter pools beyond.
Best time
- Late winter through spring — the pools are full from snowmelt and winter rain. Avoid peak summer (June–August) when water levels drop and crowds peak.
Price range
- Free: there is no entrance fee for Paradise Valley. The regional tourism board describes the visit as a car park and a 30-minute walk down to the pools, with no ticket, permit or compulsory guide.
- The car park at the trailhead is attended and a small charge is collected there. It is not published anywhere, so agree it before you leave the car, and treat the men who offer to guide you from the car park as optional — the path is easy to follow.
- The pools are the variable, not the price: they fill after the winter rains and can shrink to almost nothing after a dry season, so ask locally how much water is in the valley before you drive out.
Practical tips
- Wear closed walking shoes, bring swimwear, water, sun protection and small dirham notes — there is one cluster of stalls selling tagines and Berber omelettes at the trailhead. No changing facilities at the pools.

Drive the P1001 north toward Imouzzer Ida Outanane — about 1 hour. Look for the 'Vallée du Paradis' sign and the parking lot with the visitor centre. From Aourir / Tamraght you can also take a grand taxi up the same road.
