What does the collection cover?

Around 900 Amazigh (Berber) objects from the Souss region: silver jewellery, wedding ornaments, weaving and carpets, pottery, traditional clothing, cooking utensils, weapons, and carved wooden doors typical of regional architecture.

How much time should I plan?

About 60 to 90 minutes is enough to see the three floors. Hire one of the guides on site if you want context — interpretation panels are limited and mostly in French and Arabic.

Can I take photos inside?

No. Photography is not permitted inside the galleries.

Opened on 29 February 2000 — the 40th anniversary of the Agadir earthquake — the Musée Municipal du Patrimoine Amazigh sits on a pedestrian street off Avenue Hassan II. Three floors and ~1,000 m² display roughly 900 documented Amazigh objects from the Souss region: silver jewellery, weaving, pottery, woodwork and carved wooden doors.
