Restaurant El Reducto

RIAD DINING NEAR THE ROYAL PALACE

El Reducto is both a small riad hotel and a restaurant, in a 17th-century house a minute from Place Hassan II. The glass-roofed patio is the dining room — zellij floors, a central fountain, and a short menu of Tétouani home cooking. The owner, a former diplomat turned restaurateur, often works the floor. It's the kind of place locals send homesick relatives.

Menu

  • Chicken tagine with olives and preserved lemon; lamb with prunes; vegetable couscous; a rotating soup (harira or bissara depending on the day). Desserts are simple — orange slices with cinnamon, almond pastries, and mint tea.
