M'diq
FISHING PORT & BEACH
M'diq (also spelled Mdiq) is a coastal town 20 km northeast of Tétouan on the Mediterranean. Historically a small fishing port, it has grown into one of northern Morocco's busiest summer resorts while keeping a working harbour at its centre. The daily fish market, the marina, and the long beach south toward Cabo Negro draw weekend visitors from Tétouan and Tangier. Out of season it is quiet, with simple seafood grills and a harbourside corniche.

Martil is closer and livelier (especially in summer); M'diq feels more port-town authentic, with a real fishing harbour and slightly calmer beaches. Foodies pick M'diq for seafood; families with kids often pick Martil for the corniche.
