STORY Rabat

STORY Rabat stands on the corner of Rue Bani Yadder and Rue Jebala, in the Quartier des Ambassadeurs, the residential embassy district near Hay Riad. It is contemporary architecture, laid out as a compound rather than a block, so the effect inside the walls is closer to a small resort than to a city hotel: gardens, palms, glass fronted facades and a pool at the centre. There are 27 rooms and 10 suites, contemporary in line with historically minded detail, and the larger suites add balconies or terraces. The Emiri Villa is a separate residence inside the grounds, with its own hammam and private pool, for guests who want to be self contained. Le Safran is the restaurant, cooking Mediterranean, and Le Bar handles the evening. The spa has a hammam, a sauna and a steam room. It suits a quiet stay with space, near the ministries and embassies rather than the monuments.
