Tigmiza Boutique Hotel & Spa

Tigmiza Boutique Hotel & Spa stands on the Route de Bab Atlas in the Palmeraie, the palm grove on the north eastern edge of Marrakech. It was conceived by the Laraqui family, and the main building is laid out like a Berber kasbah. Its ten suites each follow a different theme and open onto a veranda and a patio planted with banana trees around a lap pool. Beyond the main house are pavilions of 80 m² with a private terrace, and villas that each have a private pool and garden. Villa sizes vary, with one- and two-bedroom villas. The hotel has three pools, one of them heated in winter, a spa with a hammam, a fitness room, a yoga studio, a tennis court and a private cinema room. Le Lallati is the Moroccan restaurant, and the kitchens also cook French dishes. The trade off is distance. Jemaa el Fna is about 6.5 km away in a straight line, roughly 15 minutes by car, and there is little within walking distance, so the hotel runs a free shuttle to the city centre twice a day; airport transfers are at extra cost. Choose it for space, gardens and a private pool rather than for medina life on the doorstep.
