Royal Mansour Marrakech
Royal Mansour Marrakech was commissioned by the King, opened in 2010, and built as a medina of private riads rather than a hotel of rooms.

Royal Mansour was commissioned by King Mohammed VI and opened in 2010, just outside the medina walls in Hivernage. What makes it unusual is the plan: instead of corridors and room numbers, guests stay in individual riads, each with its own courtyard and roof terrace, arranged along lanes like a miniature walled city. The craftsmanship is the point. Moroccan artisans were brought in to work the zellige, carved plaster and cedar, and the result is closer to a commission than a build. Staff move between buildings through underground passages, so service arrives without anyone appearing in your courtyard uninvited. Choose it when privacy matters more than a lobby, and when the building itself is meant to be part of the trip.
In Hivernage, on Rue Abou Abbas El Sebti, just outside the medina walls and a short taxi ride from Jemaa el Fna. Cars reach the door, which riads inside the medina cannot offer. The Koutoubia Mosque is the landmark between here and the old city.
