Dar Mirai is at 35 Derb Hajra, in the Bab Doukkala quarter on the north western side of the Marrakech medina. Jemaa el Fna is about 1.2 km away, twenty five minutes on foot, or a few minutes by taxi from the gate. This is an adults only house, and a deliberately plain one: a garden, a sun terrace, a coffee shop and a shared lounge, with air conditioning and heating in the rooms. There is no pool, no restaurant and no spa. What it offers instead is quiet and a low price, and there is parking and street parking, which is not common in the medina. The desk stores luggage, handles laundry, runs a tour desk, arranges car hire and books airport pick up and drop off for an extra charge.
Bab Doukkala is where the medina meets the newer town, so taxis, buses and shops are close and the gate is a short walk from the door. The souks and Dar el Bacha are ten to fifteen minutes east, and Jemaa el Fna about twenty five minutes on foot. Being adults only and this far from the square, the house is quiet at night.
