Riad Fes Relais et Chateaux

Riad Fes stands on Derb Ben Slimane Zerbtana in Fes El Bali, the oldest walled part of the medina, on a lane no car can enter. The house has been restored in the Spanish Moorish manner of the Fassi merchant families: carved plaster, zellige, marble and courtyards with fountains, arranged around patios rather than corridors. Rooms and suites run to about thirty, some with their own patio or balcony, several looking over the medina roofs towards the hills. There is a heated swimming pool, a spa with a steam room and treatment rooms, and a fitness room. The restaurant, Gayza, and the terraces are where the property spends the evening. The hotel runs guided medina walks, cooking classes that start at the souk and calligraphy workshops. Bab Boujloud, the Blue Gate, is about five minutes on foot, and the Medersa Bou Inania is next door.
