Riad Andalib stands on Mohamed Ben Alaoui in the R'cif quarter, in the lower part of Fes El Bali. Place R'cif is about three minutes on foot, which matters more than it sounds: it is one of the few open squares in the medina that taxis can reach, so arriving and leaving here is simpler than from the deeper lanes. The house is arranged the traditional way, around a patio with a fountain at its centre, with lounges and a bar on the ground floor. There is a small swimming pool. Up on the terrace are a solarium with sun loungers and a fitness room, and a second restaurant looking out over the rooftops and minarets of the old city. The Saffarin Madrasa is around six minutes on foot, and the R'cif Mosque is on the square itself.
R'cif is the lower quarter of Fes El Bali, built around Place R'cif and its mosque. The square is one of the few points inside the medina that vehicles can reach, so it is where most people are dropped off. The tanneries and the Zaouia of Moulay Idriss II are a walk uphill to the north, and the Al Qarawiyyin area lies between. Fes train station is around ten minutes away by car.
