Main covered souk of Marrakech medina
Souk Semmarine is the main artery of the Marrakech medina markets, running from Jemaa el-Fnaa north toward the Ben Youssef Mosque. Covered with a reed-and-wood canopy, it follows the medieval city plan and feeds dozens of smaller specialist souks — Nejjarine for woodwork, Haddadine for ironwork, Chouari for basketry, Rahba Kedima for apothecary stalls.

On the north side of Jemaa el-Fnaa, beneath an arched gateway between the Café de France and Place Bab Fteuh. From there it runs roughly north into the medina toward the Ben Youssef quarter.
