The Ouzoud Waterfalls fall about 110 metres in three tiers — the longest single drop measures 75 metres — into the gorge of the El-Abid river in Azilal Province, roughly 150 kilometres northeast of Marrakech. The site lies at around 1,060 metres altitude among red sandstone cliffs, olive groves and small traditional oil mills, and wild Barbary macaques live in the trees around the pools. It is classified as a SIBE, a site of biological and ecological interest.
