Opened in April 2009 by collectors Patrick Manac'h and Hamid Mergani, the Maison de la Photographie de Marrakech is a private museum housed in a restored funduq north of Ben Youssef Madrasa. Its archive of nearly 10,000 photographs, glass plates and postcards from 1870 to 1960 is the most important collection of historic Moroccan photography open to the public.
