Kayaking in Dakhla is an hour on the water from the Sahara Sailing Base Nautique, paddling north along the coast past nomad-style tents pitched on the shore. A kayak monitor meets you at the base, fits your lifejacket and stays with you in a safety boat the whole time.
Beginners start inside a buoyed safety area, a calm place to get your bearings and pick up a few techniques. Paddlers the staff assess as more experienced can carry on north to the cove at Bultalha, a local favourite with nomad-style tents on the beach and a tidal lagoon, then ride the wind back to base. Single and double kayaks are available and transport from Dakhla town is included. Pay on arrival, with no online payment.
